When I was small, during the summer holidays I used to spend most of my time at my granny's country house. I remember a cozy stone house, a deep well, huge vegetable gardens, fruit trees and the smell of a wood fire. At summer’s end, I would return to the city, where our pantry would be stocked with jars, all filled with tasty jams, grilled vegetables and fruit. Whenever I came across a grocery store in town, I always wondered why the contents of their jars always seemed so pale and in color: now I know.
I'm grown up now, and have been working in the Tuscan wine industry for a decade. Along the way, I've gotten to know the small artisan producers here in my special town, Montepulciano. I love spending time with them, because they have so much in common with that my granny used to do.

Our business originated from a small town in Tuscany, where my daughter and I are from: Montepulciano.
I Preferiti di Boriana offers a vast selection of traditional Tuscan products. Our company philosophy is to research and select the most authentic and high quality products.
At I Preferiti di Boriana you can have wine classes, which consist of wine tasting and food paring, where we teach you about our wines. Reservations preferred. We also offer cooking classes from scratch, where besides learning some of our traditional recipes, you will be teach on how to pair the wine with the food “wine class”.
At our store in San Francisco, located at the Ferry Building, we carry the same products and have the some services as our store in Montepulciano with a few extras - the Wine Bar, where we do serve wine tasting, wine by the glass, appetizer plates; the Coffee, where we serve Bomboloni and other pastries, Espresso, Cappuccino, Caffe’ Latte and Americano.
Both store can provide you with information about trips to see the small companies where these unique products come from, meet the owners and whenever is possible learn and see how things are made. We also offer agriturismi in the area of Montepulciano for daily or weekly staying.
